Last weekend saw the 2018 October Kempton bike jumble, the sun shone, and plenty of people turned up to make the most of the warm autumn weather, and of course there were some nice bits and pieces for sale too.

I love Sundays, there is always something to do, but there never seems to be enough Sunday to fit it all in! Today was one of those days, I was up early, the summer sun streaming in through the doors of the barge joined with a cool breeze coming off the river. So I grabbed some money and the keys to the Triumph, and headed out onto empty roads looking for a coffee.
Pretty soon I found a village store that was open and serving coffee, which was followed by a bimble through tiny Berkshire lanes, complete with grass growing along the centre. Next it was over into Hampshire, heading for Popham airfield, where the annual megameet takes place, this is a big bike show and jumble, made even better today by the perfect summer weather.
Once at the show it was nice to see one of the new Brough Superior SS100’s being used out on the road, but just like buses, you don’t get to enjoy just one, but a fantastic site to see two of these rare bikes parked up beside each other…

A stunning collection of vintage Brough’s has been unearthed in a Barn on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall. All the bikes are to go up for auction in the spring of 2016, and are causing quite a stir in the classic bike fraternity.

A couple of weeks back (where does time go?) I attended the annual Banbury Run over at Gaydon heritage motor museum, in Warwickshire, now this is a must see, if you are ever in the UK at this time of year, a great chance to get up close and personal with all kinds of early vintage motorcycles, that are actualy used out on the road, not just static museum pieces.
As usual I take far too many pictures, so I shall post a couple more here and then put a link to a slideshow of the rest at the bottom of the post.

Saturday morning started with the sun beating through the bedroom curtains, so I dragged myself from the pit, a quick wash and freshen up, and I headed out to get the Z1b from my lockup. It was warm in the August sun, so I went for the open face helmet and tee-shirt look, and headed out-of-town on the quiet back roads, in the direction of the Four Horseshoes, to see what bikes would come out to play in the sun.

I visited the 63rd annual running of the Banbury Run on Sunday, it is a gathering and run out for pre 1930 motorcycles, it is not really a show, it is an actual road run.
