Whats the old fool on about, you may well be asking! a walk around Kempton is the answer, the Covid pandemic, an ongoing battle with cancer, lockdowns, social distancing, more cancer, the list goes on. But today, I joined some friends, grabbed a camera, and walked in the land of expensive rust.
This year is taking its own sweet time warming up, and today as we headed for Kempton it was again cool and overcast, but as is usual for Kempton it did warm up a little later in the day, as the sun finally fought its way through the cloud.
As for Kempton it was a little quieter than usual, not as many stall holders, and also down on punters too, but I did what I do, and mooched about with my Canon digital camera, and so grabbed a few shots.

Last weekend saw the 2018 October Kempton bike jumble, the sun shone, and plenty of people turned up to make the most of the warm autumn weather, and of course there were some nice bits and pieces for sale too.

Yesterday March 10th was another Mortons Media run Kempton Park Jumble, and although the weather was predicted to be wet and rainy, apart from one small shower it was a very nice day, warm with just a little sun thrown in. It had the usual mix of old, and not so old motorcycles and parts for sale, and plenty of people milling around to make the day interesting.

The weather man said it would be sunny, so of course it rained, and damn it was cold too. But a Kempton in the wet is better than no Kempton, so obviously we had to attend. And while I never actually bought anything myself, although it was a close call with a 69 Husky 360.
There were in fact three stand out bikes for me today, an early Peugeot, a nice Sunbeam S7, and a very useable BSA A7 tele rigid.

The sun shone again for Kempton, and gave us a nice warm spring day, and this of course bought out plenty of people, and this always gives the place a real buzz. I managed to find a couple of small parts for my A65, so with any luck I can get it fired up soon, and maybe on the road for the summer.
Out in the car park was an unusual special, a V-twin Velocette, very nice.

Damn it was cold here today, it was cold enough to freeze the flame on a lighter Brrrrrrrrr! The marina was frozen, my Mercedes was frozen, did I mention it was cold? but that won’t stop me heading out to a Kempton jumble, and it didn’t, and so I did.
So lets have a look at what was about.
First some French guys were there with a nice CB450 -K1 Black Bomber, and a sweet little Ducati…

So first outing of 2017, and it starts sunny and dry, just need it to warm up a little now.
It was the last Kempton of 2016 today, so there we did go. Today was a tad chilly, the sun tried but the cloud won. And although it stayed dry, the wind had a real edge to it, but there was plenty to see, lots of people milling about, and some nice stuff to buy if you looked hard enough.

A couple of pictures from todays visit to my lockup, first up is the front wheel I picked up yesterday at Shepton jumble, as you can see the brake plate is nice, but the rim is shot, so I think I may well get a new rim fitted when I do the front end change.

And back at the last Kempton Jumble, I picked up a nice set of Craven Comet panniers, and an old rack that may well end up being fitted to the Lightning. or maybe they will go on my Guzzi, we shall see.
