Held annualy at Hungry Hill, Aldershot, and always on the last Sunday in January, was very wet and cold, but still great fun to attend, with the raucous sound of old pre 65 four stroke engines echoing off the trees, and the sweet smell of Castrol R, drifting in the wind, mixed with the smell of grilling bacon and coffee from the vendor in the packed car park.

I thought it might be fun to have a look at some old “Scrambles” iron,  Scrambles, there in itself is link to the past, as it now seems to be called motocross. But old school scrambles is the best, there is nothing like the smell of Castrol R, and the sound of a four stroke single being used in anger.

So here are a few shots I have taken from the local pre 65 classic scramble, as run by the Mortimer Classic MCC  http://www.mortimerclassicmcc.com/

Weekend Warriors

It was just one of those weekends, lots to do, lots to see, time with friends, just having fun, and the weather was kind to, sunny but very cold, the wind had a real icy bite, but it never detracted from a great weekend. So where did it start, well it was a Kempton motorcycle jumble weekend for a start, so that is where we all headed on Saturday morning, to mooch about looking for parts to keep our old nails on the road. I never had much luck at finding stuff this time around, sometimes you win, sometimes not, it really doesn’t matter, it is just being there that counts.

And then Sunday morning again was bright and very cold,  but it was the Talmag pre 65 trial at Aldershot, so that is where I and my flask did go…

I also took some video that is on youtube, check it out so that you can hear these great old motorcycles running….
