I have a few more pictures from Popham, there are always some nice bikes both in the show area, and in the carpark…

I quite fancied this 1969 T120 project, but is it right?

Saturday was another Kempton Jumble, organised by EGP, Eric and the crew, and very good again, they do such a good well organised event, easily the best auto jumble in the UK.

Best bike in the car park was this Matchless, the attention to detail was damn near faultless.

Sunday was the annual bike show at Popham Airfield in Hampshire, just off the A303, and once again this year the weather played ball, giving us a warm sunny day, with just an odd shower to keep us awake!

I had decided to take my Guzzi Ambo out for the day, and arranged to meet up with a couple of Harley riding friends for coffee at the halfway point. where Mark turned up on his very nice Panhead, one of a few old Harleys that he owns, and more importantly, rides.

After coffee’s and breakfast we all headed for the show, and when we got there it was heaving, loads of people both displaying old bikes, and just there to look around. it really is a well organised, well run event, lots of food and drink wagons, a large autojumble area, and a massive classic bike arena. It is a firm part of my yearly calender of old bike events.

Anyway, if you would like to see some more pictures from Popham, there is a slideshow here…

No! not the band, but the bikes based around the Norton Wideline and Slimline featherbed frames.

I was at Popham airfield on Sunday for the Wings and Wheels day, they have a fly in of old aircraft to coincide with a classic motorcycle show, a good day out if you are a petrol head.

Saturday today here in the UK started warm and sunny, so I dropped down to the lockup and pulled the Z1b from its slumbers, where it had lain unused for too
long, so long in fact that the clutch had seized, but that was easily freed up, and soon it was sat there burbling away on tickover, while I put the lid on, snicked into first gear and headed out for coffee…

Pretty soon and a short ride away I was parked up in my local MacDonalds, with my first coffee of the day. The bike looked great so I grabbed a quck phone pic, before heading on out.

I like the easy laid back quality of the phone pictures, they look like they were taken with a Polaroid back in the 70’s.

After coffee, I called in at my local bike shop, and topped up the oil in the Zed, before heading out to the Triumph owners club show, and the delights to be seen there…
